Esthétique et sciences des arts

Edited by Anne Boissière

This collection, created in 2002 by Joëlle Caullier, grapples with the fundamental question of art’s relation to politics.

At the intersection of philosophy and the humanities, the “Esthétique et sciences des arts” collection develops a critical reflection on art that takes into account the relationship to tradition and the modalities of the contemporary future. The question is about art and the arts, about the diversity and affinity of the arts among themselves, about artistic activity and oeuvres, and about the sensibility created by art, from a perspective that aims at the broader dimension of the relationship to the human and to living together.
