Within contemporary literature, the question of the “romanesque” is posed on three levels: those of aesthetics, history, and reflexivity. Defining the poetics of the romanesque in recent works allows us to better understand the successive moments that have become common when analyzing the contemporary period, bringing a fresh eye to the critical discourse around contemporary literature.
