Du Triomphe du temps au désenchantement
Pascal Quignard réécrit, dans Triomphe du temps : quatre Contes (TT) le titre d’un oratorio de Haendel de 1757 intitulé The Triumph of Time and Truth (« Le Triomphe du Temps et de la Vérité »), oratorio lui-même déjà réécrit, à Londres, en 1737, à partir d’un oratorio, Il trionfo del tempo et del disinganno (« Le triomphe du temps et de la désillusion »), composé en 1708 (ou 1709) à Rome. En retirant « la vérité » du titre, Quignard trouble tout : « le triomphe », « le temps », « la vérité » elle-même, et surtout le conte comme genre.
