Sciences de l’histoire

Edited by Catherine Maurer

The “Historical Sciences” series publishes titles in history and art history from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. While the predominant approaches have been in cultural or social history, the objects of study vary greatly, ranging from 13th-century figurative sculpture to working-class athletic groups in the 20th century, or from the invention of contemporary concepts of the South to witchcraft in the early modern era. Its monographs and collectives works have generally concentrated on history in the Western world, but the series is open to other cultures and geographic regions. While the publications are the result of academic research, they also aim to interest a broader public outside the university setting.
