2 Dans Les Prophéties populaires dans les Provinces-Unies (XVI^e -XVIII^e siècles), mémoire pour le DEA préparé sous la direction d’Alphonse Dupront et présenté en janvier 1973 à la 6^e section de l’École Pratique des Hautes Études (la future EHESS), j’avais naguère dressé un inventaire de cette littérature mi-savante, mi-populaire qui s’appuyait autant sur l’astrologie divinatoire dans ses variantes érudite et vulgaire que sur la prospective politique et le travail de communication des intéressés dans les affaires du pays.
