Not with your bang but with multiple whispers…
The auditory imagination leads the seeker
To that region of silence too shallow for fears.
I call for the humility of the intellect
On the floors of variegated worlds.
We bring unknown gestures to the origin of words:
The process without end, a new grammar of genes
To articulate the womb and the hold.
Syllable upon syllable rhythm upon rhythm,
Coral imaginary of senses in endless migrations.
“Unguent, powdered, or liquid–troubled, confused
And drowned the sense of odours; stirred by the air…”
“The casket India’s glowing gems unlocks,
And all Arabia breathes from yonder box”.
The coral here and elephant unite:
Puffs, cuffs whiffs and more stuff,
dreadlocks trunks and patches,
phtisic exilic pang not a unique whimper.
Gita, Tora, mantra, Bible, Quran,
The absolute root meets the waves of the docks.
Historical discontinuity reflects poetic opacity.
Send thali to woe shastra of new kala pani.
New faces from the kangany arkati mestri.
Salam salam goodnight namasté coolie.
They sent boklass to purge my metaphor
Lou shanti
Ta ta the contract returns to the origins
And voices from the ghat echo new beginnings.
O my bindu of plankton, wither the circle and the cycle:
Om amen amin.
Gong in liquid pagodas of algae,
The Coral cares for silence in words of eternity’.
