Études d’anthroponymie médiévale

Edited by Samuel Leturcq

This wide survey in six volumes studies the anthroponymic system with two names that extends to the whole world today. After the Roman, native and single-name systems, it was only in the eleventh century that the West truly adopted this anthroponymy with two elements. Thus, this study aims at not separating this current system from the evolution of the first name in order to analyze its phases of transformation.
