Presses Universitaires de Bordeaux
Introduction
About
Presses Universitaires de Bordeaux is a public sector publisher and a member of AEDRES (the Association of Research and Higher Education Publishers). It publishes books aimed at a university readership of researchers and students but is also for secondary school teachers as well as the general public interested in humanities and social sciences. It is the leading publishing concern in Université Bordeaux Montaigne, as it is not only the oldest but it also has an extensive catalogue and annual output. Within the university it is carrying on a internationally renowned, century old tradition of university publishing in Bordeaux in particular thanks to the Revue des Études Anciennes (1899) and the Bulletin Hispanique (1899). Over the years there have been several prestigious international co-productions with Presses de l’Université Laval in Canada, University of Exeter Press in the United Kingdom, Sud-Éditions in Tunisia and UCOPress Editorial Universidad de Córdoba in Spain. There have also been multiple collaborations with different university institutions around the world. Thanks to the thousand titles in their catalogue, Presses Universitaires de Bordeaux has contributed not only to promoting and boosting the research done in universities in Bordeaux but has also disseminated the research carried out in other higher education establishments in France and around the world, in particular in works published in our collections which are the reflection of certain fields of excellence.
