L’archéologie : science plurielle
The seminal work of Alain Gallay, L’archéologie demain, was published in 1986. On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of this book, we must ask ourselves: has the archeology of tomorrow become that of today?

The seminal work of Alain Gallay, L’archéologie demain, was published in 1986. On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of this book, we must ask ourselves: has the archeology of tomorrow become that of today?
As a science in constant evolution since its origins, contemporary archaeology is a protean discipline at the interface of multiple disciplines with which it shares tools and methods. From the excavation to the laboratory, from the analysis of the remains to that of the societies, the methodological bases on which it is based now appeal to both the human sciences and the so-called "hard" sciences. Nowadays, archaeological research is increasingly complemented by other approaches to produce new data, to take a different look at the existing data or to deepen the study through new issues.
This volume presents the proceedings of the 11th doctoral day of archaeology of the ED 112. The sum of those articles offer an epistemological reflection on the archaeological discipline as a whole, through 3 main axes:
– The issues, challenges and limits of contemporary archaeology;
– The place of archaeology in other sciences, and the role of interdisciplinarity in archaeological practice as in the construction of the discipline itself;
– The intellectual steps of the archaeologist.
