Does the scholarly community in your country/region use the omnibus term “Austrian Studies,” or is Austria part and parcel of “German Studies”?
It is part of German Studies if it is mentioned at all in the curriculum!

What are the prevalent foci of Austrian Studies in your country/region: history, political science, cultural studies (Austrian literature, music, the arts, film)?
The curricular foci include history (almost exclusively WWII), literature, philosophy, and music.
A more recent trend has been the development of European Studies and European Integration Studies, as well as the various centers funded by the European Union. These centers host visiting scholars and dignitaries from Austria, and liaise with the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in
