1To effectively contribute to development, knowledge arising from research must be disseminated, shared and adopted by as many people as possible. On the basis of this principle, which is one of its key focuses, IRD has a long-standing commitment to implementing a wide range of tools and schemes intended to share research knowledge and data. It therefore contributes to building the capacity of scientific communities in the Global South while enabling citizens to become active stakeholders in the development process.
