How has scientific research contributed in recent decades to the development of the countries of the South? Through more than 100 emblematic examples of successful research in partnership, this book explores the heart of a range of major development issues: working for fairer societies, fighting against diseases, coping with natural risks, implementing sustainable agriculture, guaranteeing food security, preserving biodiversity, and sharing knowledge. 

It demonstrates how research contributes to improving living conditions and preserving the environment in developing countries, highlighting the role of science in meeting the challenges of the world both today and in the future.  

Composed of short, richly illustrated and educative texts, it is intended for all audiences.
