A. IPC – Elections and Milestones

12008, August – Adoption of first Protocol for party cooperation. Protocol includes the possibility of a common electoral platform in the future.  Hon. John Ken Lukyamuzi was IPC Chairman. DP refuses to attend Protocol’s official unveiling.

2009, December – Signing of Additional Protocol, wherein members agreed to use a common electoral platform for the 2011 electoral process. Exclusion of DP from the Additional Protocol following its decision to field its own candidate.

2010, August– Withdrawal of UPC from IPC, on account of other members’ refusal to boycott the entire electoral process. UPC derides elections as a sham.

February 2011 – General Elections in Uganda. UPC leader runs as presidential candidate outside the IPC arrangement.
