Context
5One of the characteristic features of early 20th-century Polish nationalism was its legalism. The so-called “national democrats” may have been radical nationalists and chauvinists, but they made use of various liberties in the three parts of partitioned Poland to make their way into municipal as well as central authorities and parliaments.
