The Center for information and research on contemporary Germany (Centre d'information et de recherche sur l'Allemagne contemporaine, CIRAC in French) was founded on the 1st of March 1982 in Paris. It followed a joint declaration by the French president and the German chancellor. Its mission is to broaden the knowledge of Germany, in particular in the fields of political, economic and social life.
Built as a center of expertise on Germany and French-German relationships, its research is geared towards decision makers from the political, economic and social life, as well as professionals, the media and the whole research community. The CIRAC publishes a magazine Regards sur l'économie allemande (Views on German economy) and a newsletter, as well as a whitepaper series.
